CSI6532 Computer Architecture

This course covers the design methodology and the evaluatuion of interesting computer systems, as well as analytical evaluation and simulation in the design of instruction sets. Topics include pipelined, superscalar, vector and parallel processors, memory systems, and I/O systems. Additionally, an early segment of the class discusses the underlying VLSI technology and trends. These trends, and their impact on various aspects of architecture design and implementation, are reiterated throughout the course. One project is performed as a new challenging design work throughout the semester, to be presented on final period.
