CSI7685 Mobile Data Networking

The course will cover key concepts in mobile data networking including how mobility and IP interact in the form of a mobile IP standard, how mobility is handled at the IP layer, and cross layer related Issues. The most emphasis will be placed on the current hot topics in wireless and mobile data networking.

Through reading papers related to the course topic and presentation, having successfully completed this course, students will be able to:

Describe the operation of contemporary wireless network technologies such as the IEEE 802.11 wireless local area network and cellular networks.
Describe the operation of the TCP/IP protocol suite in a mobile environment, including the operation of Mobile IP and a mobile ad hoc routing protocol.
